Back in the Boat

Just over a week ago I visited Queens Medical Centre for an important x-ray on my injured collarbone. It was 6 weeks since my op and if all was good then it was time to start rebuilding my arm muscles which have wasted away to a shadow of their former selves. I was really pleased to find out everything was still straight (as you can see on the x-ray) and where it should be so I got the all clear to start gentle exercise using my right arm. This meant that last week Etienne and I could get back in C2 for the first time since last November. It was really good to get back in a boat despite the freezing conditions, my weakness and the fact it was only flat water. There's still a long way to go before I'll be back to full fitness but it's good to be back on the water. Next up is another 3 weeks of flat water paddling and lot's of gym work to try and rebuild my arm.

Fingers crossed the Winfield Pool thaws soon so that we can at least paddle on the flat water gates.

Thanks to everyone for their support. Tim
